Overview - Front Heating And A/C System Fresh Air Intake, Version 1

The overview shows a LHD vehicle as an example. For RHD vehicles the layout is a mirror image.

Depending on the vehicle version, there are different fresh air intake versions. Refer to the Parts Information.

1. Fresh Air Intake Opening in the Plenum Chamber Rear Panel
2. Nut
   • 4.5 Nm
   • Tightening sequence: tighten the nuts diagonally in multiple steps to the specified tightening sequence
   • If the tightening sequence is not followed, water can enter via the sealing surface in the opening for the fresh air intake and then in the air intake shroud of the heater and A/C unit.
3. Fresh Air Intake Box with Seal to Plenum Chamber - Rear Panel
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to FRESH AIR INTAKE WITH WATER DRAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VERSION 1 .
4. Fresh Air Intake Outer Cover
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to FRESH AIR INTAKE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VERSION 1 .
5. Humidity Sensor in Fresh Air Intake Duct -G657- / Air Quality Sensor -G238- / Exterior Air Quality and Humidity Sensor -G935-
   • Different versions (with or without Air Quality Sensor -G238-)depending on the version of the A/C system. Refer to the Parts Information.
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to Exterior Air Quality and Humidity Sensor -G935- /Air Quality Sensor -G238- WITH THE Humidity Sensor in Fresh Air Intake Duct -G657-, EMOVING AND INSTALLING .
6. Fresh Air Intake Inner Cover
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to FRESH AIR INTAKE WITH WATER DRAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VERSION 1 .
7. Fresh Air Intake with Water Drain
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to FRESH AIR INTAKE WITH WATER DRAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VERSION 1 .
8. Nut
   • 3.5 Nm
   • Tightening sequence: tighten the nuts diagonally in multiple steps to the specified tightening sequence
   • If the tightening sequence is not followed, water can enter the fresh air intake and then the air intake shroud of the heater and A/C unit.
