Function 08, Measured Value Block, Reading
A display group with 8 display fields is provided.
If the printer is switched on, the readout on the display is printed out on the log.
- Observe test requirements SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION, MY 94 AND MY 95
- DTC memory has been checked and all malfunctions have been traced and repaired
-- Connect scan tool: VAG1551 to Data Link Connectors (DLC) in auxiliary relay panel I on left side of plenum chamber, using : VAG1551 /1 adapter cable SCAN TOOL VAG 1551, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
Indicated on display FUNCTION 08, MEASURED VALUE BLOCK, READING => List Item: Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately

The printer can be switched on by pressing the PRINT button (indicator light comes on in button).

The "D" suffix in the control module identification indicates an ABS control module with wheel speed outputs (e.g. for auto. trans. 01F); the absence such of a suffix indicates no wheel speed outputs.

Display fields 1 to 4 indicate wheel speed in km/h. This is calculated by the ABS control module -J104- according to the input signals from the ABS wheel speed sensors.
If the vehicle is accelerated or moved at steady speed on a dry surface, variation in display fields 1 to 4 of up to ±1 km/h is permissible. If the difference is greater, check the ABS wheel speed sensors and rotors, front FRONT AXLE ABS OVERVIEW , rear REAR AXLE ABS OVERVIEW .
To check whether the sensors are correctly connected, turn the wheels by hand (block the other wheel of the driven axle to prevent it also turning). If the displayed values indicate a malfunction, carry out a function test using the Bosch Abs Tester: VAG1710 ABS tester.
