Brake Pressure Regulator, Checking And Adjusting

The brake pressure regulator is mounted on the body and is controlled from the left trapezoidal arm via a spring.

Checking function

• Vehicle resting on wheels

-- Depress brake pedal forcefully and release abruptly.

• The brake pressure regulator lever must move.

Adjusting

• Brake system filled and bled according to specification

-- Drive vehicle onto hoist.

-- Release tension from rear axle.

• Rear springs must be fully extended

-- Press brake pressure regulator lever in direction shown (arrow) to stop.

-- Loosen nut -1-

-- Place drill bit -2- between tension spring and bearing.

Note different adjusting values in the following chart:

Vehicle	Drill bit diameter
100/A6 models	4 mm (5/32 in.)
S4/S6 models	8 mm (5/16 in.)

-- Tighten nut -1- to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

-- Remove drill bit.

-- Hook tension spring in support.
