Pressure Accumulator, Checking Gas Fill Pressure

Specifications

• Pressure when new: 73-77 bar (1059-1117 psi) at 20°C (68°F)
• Minimum pressure: 30 bar (435 psi) at 20°C (68°F)

Checking

-- Connect hose of tester Pressure Gauge:VAG1441  to hydraulic brake servo using banjo bolt and copper seals that come with tester.

-- Let engine idle until gauge needle shows operating pressure, approx. 140 bar (:2030  psi).

-- Switch ignition off.

-- Observe gauge and pump brake pedal until gauge needle drops slowly.

Gas fill pressure = pressure at which needle drops suddenly to zero bar after dropping slowly.

-- If gas fill pressure is lower than 30 bar (435 psi), replace pressure accumulator.

-- Remove tester Pressure Gauge:VAG1441  .

-- Install warning switch, check switch for leaks.

-- Check hydraulic fluid level; fill if necessary.
