Rear Upper Transverse Link, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
-- Install the threaded connections up to the stop but do not tighten yet.
- Bonded rubber bushings have a limited range of rotation. Only tighten the threaded connections for the suspension when the vehicle is at standard vehicle height.
-- Lifting the wheel bearing in curb weight position (refer to WHEEL BEARING, LIFTING TO CURB WEIGHT POSITION, VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING ) or at standard vehicle height (refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION ).
-- Tighten the bolt -arrow- to 40 Nm.
-- Tighten the bolt -3- firmly with the :T40312 and a ring open end wrench.
-- Tighten the bolt -1-.
-- Place the :T10337 on the :VAS6931 and position it at the bottom of the subframe.
There is a risk of an accident when lowering or lifting the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.
- Never lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.
- Never leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.
-- Loosen the bolt -arrow-, and lower the subframe a maximum of 12 mm.
-- Tighten the bolt on the upper transverse link.
-- Install the subframe and replace the bolt when doing so. Refer to SUBFRAME, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
