Tie Rod, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

• If the tie rod is deformed, the rear axle steering gear must also be replaced. Refer to REAR AXLE STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the threaded connections up to the stop but do not tighten yet.

• Bonded rubber bushings have a limited range of rotation. Only tighten the threaded connections for the suspension when the vehicle is at standard vehicle height.

-- Raise the wheel bearing to the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .
