Front Lower Transverse Link, Removing And Installing: Removing

Before starting work:

-- Versions with coil springs: determine the curb weight position. Refer to VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRINGS, CHECKING THE CURB WEIGHT POSITION FOR AXLE ALIGNMENT .

-- Versions with air suspension: determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT FOR AXLE ALIGNMENT ON VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION, CHECKING .

-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Turn the wheel hub, until a wheel bolt hole is at the top.

-- Install the :T10149  with a wheel bolt -2- on the wheel hub.

-- Slightly lift the wheel bearing housing using the :T10149  with the :VAS6931  this allows the threaded connections to easily separate.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of an accident when lowering or lifting the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.

- Never lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is underneath it.

- Never leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Remove the bolt -3-, disconnect the threaded connection -1- and remove the lower transverse link -2-.
