Airbag Control Module -J234-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Remove the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the rear air duct. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN VEHICLE INTERIOR .

-- Unclip the wiring harness -arrow A- from the cover using the : 80-200  and free it up.

-- Remove nuts -B arrows- and remove the cover from threaded pins.

-- Unclip the cover -1- for the rear control module under the carpet from the threaded pin -C arrows- to do so pull the carpet slightly upward.

-- Pull the control module cover out from under the carpet and remove it.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

There is a risk of injury.

- Discharge static electricity by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the airbag control module -1- from the threaded pins.

-- Disconnect the connectors -2 and 3- by releasing the connector safety catch and securing clip on the connector.
