-- Remove seat from vehicle POWER FRONT SEAT -- Disconnect 2-point connector at adjustment motor being checked-- Briefly connect a fused (30 amp) outside power supply alternately to the 2-point connector (as shown)

Specified result: -- Adjustment motor moves smoothly in both directions

Specified results NOT OK

-- Replace malfunctioning adjustment motor

-- Disconnect 2-point connector for seat adjustment motors-- Set multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to measure resistance (Ω) and connect test leads between terminals of 2-point connector

Must read 0 Ω (continuity)

-- Operate switch for malfunctioning seat adjustment in both directions

Must read ∞ Ω (no continuity) each time

One or more specified readings NOT OK

Specified readings OK

-- Check wiring for open or short circuits according to wiring diagram, repair as necessary or replace switch
