Oil Pressure Switches, Checking
bar oil pressure switch
-- Connect adapter: VAG1598/4 harness to 26-point instrument cluster connector (green).
-- Connect adapter harness to test box: VAG1598A .
-- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to measure resistance (Ω).
-- Connect multimeter between socket 5 of test box: VAG1598A and Ground (GND).
- Must be 0 ohms (Ω) (continuity)
-- Start engine.
- Must be ∞ ohms (Ω) (no continuity)
If specified results are not obtained:
-- Check wiring for open circuit according to wiring diagram, repair as necessary, or
-- Replace oil pressure switch.
Oil pressure switch
-- Connect : VAG1598/13 adapter harness to 14-point instrument cluster connector (black).
-- Connect adapter harness to test box: VAG1598A .
-- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to measure resistance (Ω).
-- Connect multimeter between socket 22 of test box: VAG1598A and ground.
- Must be ∞ ohms (Ω) (no continuity)
-- Start engine.
- Must be 0 ohms (Ω) (continuity)
If specified results are not obtained:
-- Check wiring for open circuit according to wiring diagram, repair as necessary, or
-- Replace oil pressure switch.
