Cylinder Bank 1 (Right) Camshaft Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAMSHAFT HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the camshaft timing chain from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .

-- Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the right high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the right high pressure pipe. Refer to CYLINDER BANK 1 (RIGHT) HIGH PRESSURE PIPE, REMOVING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the bracket -2-.

-- Remove the noise insulation lower section -1-.

-- Loosen and remove the camshaft housing bolts in the sequence -24 to 1-.

-- Carefully loosen the camshaft housing -1- with a screwdriver -2- from the bonding and remove.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying the engine by small parts inadvertently entering with the camshaft housing removed.

- Cover the cylinder head with a clean cloth.
