Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Belt Pulley Side: Removing

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BELT PULLEY SIDE .

-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove A/C Compressor bracket. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-. Refer to Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -1- using the Bit Torx T30 :T10573 .

-- Remove the oil dipstick tube -2- from the belt pulley side sealing flange. (Shown on Audi A8).

-- Seal the opening with thoroughly clean plus from the Engine Bung Set :VAS 6122 .

-- Loosen and remove the bolts in the order -10 to 1-.

-- To loosen the front sealing flange -1-, install three M5x20 bolts -arrows- all the way.

-- Install the bolts alternating from side to side ¹ /₂ turn respective until the belt pulley sealing flange is loosened.

-- Remove the bolts again and remove the sealing flange and the crankshaft seal.
