Mechanical Damage
- Check the air filter housing, air filter element and air duct hoses for contamination.
- Check the entire charge air circuit and charge air cooler for foreign objects.
- If there are foreign objects in the charge air system, clean the charge air circuit and replace the charge air cooler if necessary.

- Socket:T10405
Removing
-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the right lower air duct pipe on the turbocharger. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicle without particulate filter:
-- Remove the right front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -1- and move the right catalytic converter toward the rear.
Vehicles with a particulate filter:
-- Remove right particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the retaining plate -3-.
-- Remove the coolant line -1-.
-- Remove the coolant line -2- and oil supply line -4-.
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -1- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Remove the vacuum hose -2- at the same time to not damage it.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Remove the turbocharger and at the same time remove the oil return connection -1-.
