If there is mechanical damage to the turbocharger. Refer to If mechanical damage (such as a destroyed compression wheel) is found on the turbocharger, just replacing the turbocharger is not enough. To avoid subsequent damage later, perform the following steps: .

- Socket:T10405
Removing
-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the left lower air duct pipe on the turbocharger. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicle without particulate filter:
-- Remove the left front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -2- and move the left catalytic converter toward the rear.
Vehicles with a particulate filter:
-- Remove left particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the retaining plate -2-.
-- Remove the coolant line -3-.
-- Remove the coolant line -1- and oil supply line -4-.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the vacuum hose -2- at the same time to not damage it.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Remove the turbocharger, at the same time turn the oil return connection -1- slightly in the -direction of the arrow- and remove the oil return connection -3-.
