If there is mechanical damage to the turbocharger. Refer to If mechanical damage (such as a destroyed compression wheel) is found on the turbocharger, just replacing the turbocharger is not enough. To avoid subsequent damage later, perform the following steps: .

Removing
-- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the left lower air duct pipe on the turbocharger. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the upper coolant lines on turbocharger. Refer to UPPER COOLANT LINES ON TURBOCHARGER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Free up the vacuum line -1-.
-- Remove the coolant line -3- and oil supply line -2-.
-- If not yet installed, remove the bolt -7- and remove the wires for the EVAP system.
-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -4- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.
-- Disconnect the connector -6-.
-- Remove the vacuum hose -5- without damaging it.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Remove the turbocharger, at the same time turn the oil return connection -1- slightly in the -direction of the arrow- and remove the oil return connection -3-.
