Cylinder Bank 1 (Right) Camshaft Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

Depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAMSHAFT HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING  .

-- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the camshaft timing chain from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .

2.9L Engine:

-- Disconnect the connectors:

1. For the After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-
2. For the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-
3. For the Tank Ventilation Pressure Sensor 1 -G950-
4. For the Engine Cover Temperature Sensor -G765-
5. For the Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-
6. For the Mechanical Coolant Pump Switch Valve -N649-
7. For the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
8. For the Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-

-- Free up the wiring harness and push to the side.

-- Remove the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80- from the bracket and push it to the side.

3.0L Engine:

-- Disconnect the connectors:

1. For the After-Run Coolant Pump -V51-
2. For the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-
3. For the Tank Ventilation Pressure Sensor 1 -G950-
4. For the Engine Cover Temperature Sensor -G765-
5. For the Recirculation Valve, Bank 1 -N625-
6. For the Mechanical Coolant Pump Switch Valve -N649-
7. For the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
8. For the Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-

-- Free up the wiring harness and push to the side.

-- Remove the EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80- from the bracket and push it to the side.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the bracket -1- for the solenoid valves.

-- Remove the noise insulation lower section.

-- Loosen and remove the camshaft housing bolts in the sequence -20 to 1-.

-- To loosen the camshaft housing -1- install two M8x25 bolts -arrows- all the way.

-- Install the bolts alternating from side to side ¹ /₂ turn respectively until the camshaft housing is loosened.

-- Remove the bolts and the camshaft housing.
