Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Belt Pulley Side
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Puller - Crankshaft Seal:T40019
- Guide Thrust Piece:T40019/4 , not illustrated
- Assembly Tool:T40320
- Guide Sleeve :T40320/4 , not illustrated
Tool Preparation
-- Insert the Thrust Piece:T40019/4 in the inner part -arrow- of the Puller - Crankshaft Seal:T40019 .
Procedure
-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Position the inner part of the Puller - Crankshaft Seal Puller - Crankshaft Seal:T40019 flush with outer part and secure it with the knurled screw.
-- Lubricate the threaded head on the camshaft seal puller position it and install it as far as possible into the seal using force.
-- Loosen the knurled bolt and turn the inner part with the Thrust Piece: T40019/4 against the crankshaft, until the seal is removed.
-- Secure the seal puller in a vise at the flat spots and remove the seal using pliers.
-- Clean the contact and sealing surface.
-- Mount the Guide:T40320/4 on the crankshaft and push the seal -1- into the belt pulley side sealing flange.
- The open side of seal faces the engine.
- Leave the Guide:T40320/4 on the crankshaft for pressing in.
-- Position the Assembly Tool - Thrust Piece :T40320/1 with the bolt -1- for the vibration damper on the crankshaft.
-- Press the seal -2- in all the way.
Install in reverse order of removal.
-- Install the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
