After at least 1000-2000 km (600-1200 miles), once coil springs have settled
Thereafter as necessary

Alignment Problem vs. Wheel Problem

NOTE:

Following repairs to the suspension, and prior to checking wheel alignment, road test the vehicle at its curb weight ) WHEEL ALIGNMENT. Sometimes, poor vehicle handling characteristics are the result of wheel problems:

Wheel imbalance

Excessive radial runout

-- Correct as necessary

Alignment Equipment

Use an optical alignment gage, whenever possible, to check wheel alignment. (If a substitution is necessary, protractor :3021 may be used when checking camber).

Measuring equipment properly adjusted
Vehicle at curb weight ) WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Tires inflated to specified pressures
Vehicle positioned precisely
Suspension bounced several times
No excessive play or damage to steering and steering linkage
No excessive play or damage to suspension

Curb weight is the weight of a vehicle ready for the road: with full fuel tank, equipped with spare tire, tool kit and jack.
