Rear Suspension Strut: Notes

Removing: 

-- Remove wheel.

-- Support rear axle with transmission jack :VAG1383A  or equivalent Fig. 1 Supporting rear axle with transmission jack .

-- Remove bottom fastening bolt.

-- Remove top fastening nuts.

-- Remove complete suspension strut.

Installing: 

-- Insert bottom fastening bolt for suspension strut.

-- Raise rear axle with transmission jack OTC 1765 A or equivalent until all top fastening nuts can be installed.

-- Tighten top fastening nuts.

-- Install wheel.

-- Lower rear axle.

-- Lower vehicle onto its wheels, tighten bottom fastening bolt.

Repairing REAR SUSPENSION STRUT OVERVIEW 

• Always replace
• 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

• Always replace
• 95 Nm (70 ft lb)
• Tighten with vehicle standing on its wheels
