Airbag III, My 1995

Safety Specifications

The safety specifications for airbag II are still valid and must be complied with AIRBAG II SAFETY MEASURES .

CAUTION:
  • Before servicing any part of the airbag or related systems, always disconnect the battery ground strap.

Up to 1995 models:

  • Before working on any airbag or steering column component, always disconnect the airbag voltage supply connector. Refer to Airbag Power Supply Connector . Disconnecting the battery ground strap alone will not prevent accidental airbag release.

From 1996 models:

  • The single-pin airbag voltage supply connector is eliminated.
  • It is only necessary to disconnect the battery ground strap.
  • All other airbag system safety precautions still apply.
