Rear Parking Lock Emergency Release Cable, Removing and Installing, Q5: Removing
WARNING:
There is a risk of an accident from the vehicle starting to roll
- Pull the parking brake button to activate the electro-me- chanical parking brake.
- Remove the driver seat. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Remove the footwell cover on the driver side. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Remove the footrest. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Remove the sill panel on the driver side. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Remove the center console. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Remove the noise insulation.
- Release the retainers in direction of -A arrows- and slide the sleeve -1- on the emergency release cable in the direction of -arrow B-.
- Disengage the rear emergency release cable from the front emergency release cable in direction of -arrow C-.
- Push the carpet at the front of the driver footwell to the side.
- Remove the nuts -arrow-.
- Free up the rear parking lock emergency release cable -1- and remove it.
