ATF, Draining and Filling: Draining
NOTE:
Replace the plugs after removal.
- The engine is off.
- Move vehicle onto a four pillar workshop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal.
- The selector level is in "P".
- The parking brake button is pressed to activate the electro-mechanical parking brake.
- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Equipped on some models: remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -2-.
- Remove the end panel -1- for the crossbrace.
- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit - SMN372500- underneath
- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester with the vehicle and start the Diagnostic mode.
- Select vehicle test
- Transmission Electronics, Guided Function
- ATF level, checking - ATF Draining
NOTE:
The test program "ATF draining" includes "deactivating the ATF pump and draining the hydraulic pressure reservoir"
- Follow the instructions in the display.
WARNING:
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Open the plug -A- on the drain opening and let the ATF drain.
CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the transmission.
- Do not start the engine when there is no ATF in the transmission.
NOTE:
Follow the disposal requirements.
- Tighten the ATF drain plug.
- Clean the subframe crossbrace and remove any remaining ATF.
