High voltage increases the risk of fatal injury
Electrocution can cause severe bodily or fatal injury.
- Have an Audi high-voltage technician (HVT) or an Audi high-voltage expert (HVE) de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- De-energize the high-voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, DE-ENERGIZING .
- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replace control module" function for the respective control module on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- With the ignition switched off, disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the impact guard for Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1-. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL .
-- Support with Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS6931 and universal mounting plate from the electric drive power and control electronics.
-- Remove the rear tunnel brace. Refer to TUNNEL BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove and free up the Drive Motor High-Voltage Wiring Harness -PX2- -2-.
- The high-voltage wiring harness must be replaced if the connector is damaged.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Remove the Electrical A/C Compressor High-Voltage Cable -P3- -1- to do so release the catches -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove and free up the High-Voltage Wiring Harness for High-Voltage Battery -PX1- -3-.
- The high-voltage wiring harness must be replaced if the connector is damaged.
-- Remove the bolt -5- and free up the coolant line -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 4- and free up the cable holder -3-.
-- Remove the nut -4- and free up the B+ wire -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -3- and free up the potential equalization cable -2-.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 2-, then clamp off the coolant hose with the : 3094 and remove.
-- Lower and remove the electric drive power and control electronics -3-.
