Latch, Removing And Installing, Security: Removing
-- Remove the rear lid lower trim panel and the latch cover. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Equipment Version with Closing Assist Motor:
-- Remove the latch cover protecting plate -item- 9.
-- Turn the operating cable 90° in the direction of -arrow A- at the lever -6- and remove it from the support bracket on the latch -5-.
-- Using a screwdriver -1-, secure the operating lever -8- on the opposite side in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Disengage the release cable nipple -7- from the release lever in direction of -arrow C- and free up the release cable.
Continuation:
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Remove the nuts -2 and 4-.
-- Remove the latch.
