Transmission Fluid Level, Checking: Procedure
NOTE:
- General repair instructions. Refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
- Guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Do not exchange the transmission fluid (MTF) chamber with the ATF chamber.
- Replace the plug for the inspection and fill hole.
- Transmission fluid temperature at approximately 20°C (68°F) (room temperature).
- Move vehicle onto a four-pillar workshop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal.
- The transmission must be still for at least 15 minutes to make sure the oil settles internally.
- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.
- Equipped on some models: remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -2-.
- Remove the end panel -1- for the crossbrace.
WARNING:
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Remove the plug -arrow- for the right inspection and fill hole on the transmission housing with the Torx Socket - T60 -T40087-.
- The manual transmission fluid (MTF) must be 2 mm from the lower edge of the inspection and fill hole.
- If the oil level is not correct, fill the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling
