- Mark the running direction with paint for reinstallation
- Removing from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Chain Tensioner
- Removing and installing. Refer to CHAIN TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 9 Nm
Seal
- Replace after removing.
Gliding Piece
- Replace after removing.
Control Valve
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Installing .
- For the camshaft adjuster
O-Ring
- Replace after removing.
Camshaft Adjuster
- For the intake camshaft
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- After removal replace the friction disc (diamond disc) -item 11- Cylinder Bank 2 (left) Camshaft Timing Chain => List Item: Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
- Replace after removing.
- For the connection security between the camshaft adjuster and camshaft end
- Bring the new friction disc (diamond disc) without kinking into its installation position

- Replace after removing.
- For the connection security between the camshaft adjuster and camshaft end
- Bring the new friction disc (diamond disc) without kinking into its installation position
Camshaft Adjuster
- For the exhaust camshaft
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- After removal replace the friction disc (diamond disc) -item 12- Cylinder Bank 2 (left) Camshaft Timing Chain => List Item: Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
O-Ring
- Replace after removing.
Control Valve
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Installing .
- For the camshaft adjuster

- With the chain sprocket for the camshaft timing chain
