Front Parking Lock Emergency Release Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the center or rear noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the left transmission mount. Refer to TRANSMISSION MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (3.0L) , TRANSMISSION MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (4.0L) .
There is a risk of an accident from the vehicle starting to roll.
- Pull the parking brake button to activate the electro-mechanical parking brake.
-- Remove the tunnel crossmember. Refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicle with a TDI Engine
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Free up the wire and push the bracket -2- with the connector to the side.
-- Remove the front parking lock emergency release cable -1-.
Vehicle with a TFSI Engine
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Unclip and free up the front connector -1-, then push the bracket -2- with the connector to the side.
-- Remove the front parking lock emergency release cable -3-.
