Rear Axle Toe, Adjusting
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Track Rod Tool Insert: T40183
- Fine tooth ratchet, commercially available
- 21 mm internal multi-point socket, commercially available
Procedure
Versions Without Rear Axle Steering:
-- Remove the nut -1- for the threaded connection between the tie rod/subframe. Install a new nut all the way.
-- Adjust the toe by turning the eccentric bolt -2-.
TIP:
To turn the eccentric bolt, turn the hex head at the >>top of the bolt<<.
Versions With Rear Axle Steering:
-- Remove the nut -1- for the threaded connection between the tie rod/rear axle steering. Install a new nut all the way.
-- Adjust the toe by turning the eccentric bolt -2-.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
- Axle alignment specified values. Refer to AXLE ALIGNMENT SPECIFIED VALUES .
- The maximum adjustment range is 90° to left or right of center position.
- The geometric drive axle is automatically changed when individual toe settings are changed.
-- Tighten the nut -1- with the : T40183 .
-- Then check the toe value again. Refer to AXLE ALIGNMENT SPECIFIED VALUES .
