Ball Joint, Removing And Installing: Removing
- The control arm is removed. Refer to CONTROL ARM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Abruptly Loosening the Ball Joint When Removing Increases the Risk of Injury.
It Is Possible That Parts of the Body May Become Bruised.
- Secure the tool with the engine and gearbox jack placed underneath.
-- Clamp the control arm in a vise with protective covers.
-- To protect the threads, remove the nut -arrow- from the joint pin for the ball joint until it is flush with the joint pin threads.

It is possible that parts of the body may become bruised.
- Secure the tool.
-- Press the ball joint off the control arm using the : T40277 . Do not damage the CV boot when doing this.
-- Then remove the nut and the ball joint. Counterhold at the joint pin with a TX 40 socket if necessary.
