Radiator, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the left and right headlamp housing with mount. Refer to HEADLAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the impact member. Refer to IMPACT MEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray:VAS 6208 underneath.
Audi RSQ8:
-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the coolant hose and let the coolant drain out.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Lift the clamp -3- and remove the lower right coolant hose from the radiator and drain the coolant.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Radiator Outlet -G83-. (example image)
There is a risk of injury if the radiator fan turns on by itself.
- When performing procedures near the radiator maintain a distance to the radiator.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2- for the radiator fan.
-- Release the left and right catches -arrows- and remove the retaining pin -1- for the radiator upward.
Vehicles with Auxiliary Radiator for Transmission Fluid Cooler:
-- Remove the fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Carefully disengage the auxiliary radiator for the right and left transmission fluid cooler -1- from the bracket -4- -A arrows- and tie it up downward.
-- Remove the air duct -2- towards the front.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the bracket -1- for the auxiliary radiator for the transmission.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Release the left and right catches with the Elbow Assembly Tool:T10118 -arrows- and remove the upper air ducts -1- and side air ducts -2- (example image).
-- Lift the clamps -1 and 2-, and remove and free up the connection from the radiator.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the High Pressure Sensor -G65-.
Risk of damaging the refrigerant lines and hoses by removing and pivoting the condenser.
- Do not bend, twist or stretch the refrigerant lines and hoses.
-- Carefully release the left and right catches -arrows-.
Risk of damaging the retainers due to improper handling.
- Carefully release the retainers.
-- Disengage the condenser -1- on the radiator, guide it disengage and tie it up to the side.
-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the radiator.
-- If the radiator is replaced, remove the left and right bolt -arrow-.
-- If still installed, press the fan shroud left and right locking tabs at the same time -arrow- and remove the fan shroud upward from the radiator.
