Refrigerant Expansion Valve 1 -N636-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
-- On vehicles with high-voltage system, switch on the "parking air conditioner" function (deactivate). Refer to the Owner's Manual.
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to OVERVIEW - WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM .
-- Remove the brake booster -1- from the bracket and move to the side with the lines attached. Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Disconnect the connector -9- from the Refrigerant Expansion Valve 1 -N636- -5-.
-- Remove the bolt -6-.
-- Loosen the refrigerant line -10- from the connection on the Refrigerant Expansion Valve 1 -N636- -5-.
-- Remove the bolts -4-.
-- Remove the bolt -3-.
-- Loosen the refrigerant line from the connection on the heater core, and remove together with the Refrigerant Expansion Valve 1 -N636- -5-.
-- Remove the bolt -3-.
-- Loosen the refrigerant line -2- from the connection on the Refrigerant Expansion Valve 1 -N636- -4-.
