Heat Pump Valve Unit, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
-- Check that the threaded pin -E- is seated correctly in the longitudinal member.
- There can be refrigerant oil in the removed valve block -E- that must be redelivered to the refrigerant circuit (with the new component). Refer to Refrigerant Circuit Components, Replacing or COMPONENTS, REPLACING .
-- If equipped, check the alignment pin -J- on the refrigerant line connections for damage and correct seating.
-- Replace the O-rings -K-. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS and the Parts Information for the correct version.
-- Install the refrigerant lines -A, B, C and D- on the valve block, at the same time pay attention to the routing.
-- Install the refrigerant line with check valve -G- at the same time pay attention to the correct routing.
-- Install the refrigerant line -F- and pay attention to the correct routing.
-- Check the routing of the refrigerant lines after attaching. They must be inserted into the provided brackets and must not come in contact with other components.
-- Reinstall the rest of the removed components in the reverse order and reattach the loosened components.
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
-- Evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station) or Working with A/C Service Station (1 Of 2) / Working with A/C Service Station (2 Of 2) .
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Initiate the basic setting of the A/C system through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and activate the power-controlled valves using one of the routines stored there. "Charge/flush the refrigerant circuit stop routine" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
-- Check the DTC memory of the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- (and of the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024-) and erase any displayed malfunctions using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
-- Start the A/C system after charging the refrigerant circuit. Refer to A/C SYSTEM, STARTING AFTER CHARGING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .
