Overview - A/C Compressor Power Unit, Vehicles With 6-Cylinder TDI Engine/ 8-Cylinder TDI Engine

The A/C compressor can differ slightly on a 8-cylinder TDI engine from a 6-cylinder TDI engine.

1. Ribbed Belt
   • Mark the running direction and install on the correct side
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
2. Alignment Sleeve
3. Sub-Assembly Bracket
   • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
   • For vehicles with 6-cylinder engine
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to SUB-ASSEMBLY BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

5. A/C Compressor
   • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
   • Refrigerant Line, Disconnecting and Connecting. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AT A/C COMPRESSOR .
   • Removing and installing from the bracket. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING FROM BRACKET .
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
6. O-Ring
   • Replace after removing. Refer to the Parts Information for the version.
   • Coat with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
7. Low Pressure Side Refrigerant Line
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AT A/C COMPRESSOR .
8. Screw
   • 25 Nm
9. A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280-
   • To check, Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding"  function. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.
10. Screw
    • 25 Nm
11. High Pressure Side Refrigerant Line
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AT A/C COMPRESSOR .
12. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing. Refer to the Parts Information for the version.
    • Coat with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT SEALS .
13. Screw
    • 25 Nm
    • Quantity: 3
14. Belt Pulley with Overload Protection
    • With or without the A/C Clutch -N25- depending on the engine and the A/C compressor.
    • There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
