BELT PULLEY (WITHOUT A/C Clutch -N25-), REMOVING AND INSTALLING, "Denso" A/C COMPRESSOR VERSION "2": Removing

-- Perform the preparatory work. Refer to PRELIMINARY WORK FOR REPLACING BELT PULLEY .

-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Carefully remove the circlip -A- (with a rubber disc vulcanized on) using a small screwdriver or needle nose pliers.

-- Tighten the compressor shaft -B- with a commercially available hex socket wrench and turn the drive plate -C- with the belt pulley -D- in the direction of the -arrow E-.

-- Remove drive plate -C-.

-- Remove the circlip -A-.

-- Remove the belt pulley -B-.

TIP

Do not remove the belt pulley from an installed A/C compressor. Remove the A/C compressor with the refrigerant lines connected:

• Refer to MECHANICALLY-DRIVEN A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ON BRACKET, VEHICLES WITH 4-CYLINDER TFSI ENGINE  for a 4-cylinder engine.
• Refer to MECHANICALLY-DRIVEN A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING ON BRACKET, VEHICLES WITH 6-CYLINDER ENGINE  for a 6-cylinder TDI-engine.

The A/C compressor must be removed on vehicles with a 6-cylinder FSI/TFSI engine. Refer to MECHANICALLY-DRIVEN A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 6-CYLINDER ENGINE .
