Refrigerant Lines, Removing And Installing From Expansion Valve: Removing
- For all following procedures immediately seal all the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
Q5 with High-Voltage System
-- Initiate the basic setting of the A/C system using the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the electric valves using the routine "Refrigerant Circuit, Extract, Evacuate and Fill" in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or WORKING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION .
-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Danger of frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit has not been opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the nut -A-.
Vehicles without High-Voltage System
-- Remove the refrigerant line -B- on the refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES IN PLENUM CHAMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove both refrigerant lines -B and C- from the front expansion valve -D-.
