Evacuating And Charging Valve, Removing And Installing, Low And High Pressure Side: Removing
Depending on the vehicle version installed in the left plenum chamber (near the brake fluid reservoir, as shown here) under the plenum chamber or in the left engine compartment
Vehicles with a High-Voltage System
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Depending on the type, open the left cover -D- of the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the closure caps -A or B-.
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the valve -C- with a suitable socket from the Refrigerant Sockets:T10364 .
