Check Valve In Check Valve Refrigerant Line, Removing And Installing: Removing
- For all the following work, close the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
- There are different versions of the check valves (different connections and nominal sizes for the flow). Note the correct allocation. Refer to Parts Information.
-- Initiate the A/C system basic setting through the Thermal Management Control Module -J1024- and open the power-activated valves through the stored routine "Extract, evacuate and fill the refrigerant circuit" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Remove the left front wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Loosen the left front wheel housing liner and push it rearward. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Evacuate or drain refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting or draining the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract or drain the refrigerant again. Pressure develops in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the bolts -2- on the bottom of the bracket for the valve unit and remove the bolt -1- on the check valve.
-- Remove the bolts -1, 7 and 10- on the bracket for the valve unit.
-- Remove the bolt -3- on the check valve -2- and bolt -5- on the connection on the check valve.
- The rigid refrigerant line -4- may not be deformed or under stress.
-- Push the valve unit slightly to the side and remove the refrigerant line -4- by lightly turning the refrigerant line -2- out of the valve unit.
-- Remove the check valve -2-.
