Undamaged Side Window, Removing

• Pay attention to the repair information. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .

Removing

-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push in the vehicle interior between the cutting wire and trim panels from a cut out protection from the Window Removal Set:861 001A  .

-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the antenna amplifier -1- and secure to the side window using adhesive tape -arrow-.

-- Place the Window Removal Set - Cutting Cord:VAS 861 001/1A  all around under the side window seal and secure on the end of the striker -2-.

TIP:

Slightly lift the molding using the Wedge Set:T10383/1  .

-- Secure the upper side window using adhesive tape -1-.

-- Insert the Window Removal Set - Cutting Cord:VAS 861 001/1A  in the piercing awl -1-.

TIP:

To prevent any damage, cover the area where the piercing awl comes out at the body flange with adhesive tape -arrow-.

-- Press the piercing awl in this area from the outside inward through the adhesive bead and pull the cutting cord inward.

-- Secure the removal device -1- with the reel device on the inside of the window.

-- Insert the Window Removal Set - Cutting Cord:VAS 861 001/1A  in the reel device.

-- Tension the cutting cord with the reel device.

-- Cut the first section free. This will guide the cutting wire into the integrated idler roller on the reel device. The locating pins are cut at the same time.

-- Offset the removal device -1- and cut free the rear edges of the rear side window. The locating pins are cut at the same time.

-- Slide the cutting guard -2- between the roof trim panel and the Cutting Cord:VAS 861 001/1A  .

-- Move the removal device -1- and cut free the area along the D-pillar upward.

-- Slide the cutting guard -1- between the roof trim panel and the Cutting Cord:VAS 861 001/1A  .

-- Move the removal device -2- and cut free the upper area of the D-pillar.

-- Move the removal device -1- and cut free the upper area of the C-pillar. The locating pins are cut at the same time.

-- Remove the side window from the side window frame.
