Undamaged Side Window, Removing, SPORTBACK
- Pay attention to the repair information. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .
Removing
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- In the window cutting area, protect the side panel and roof against paint damage with adhesive tape -arrow-.
Risk of injury to the hands and eyes from glass fragments.
Getting cut is possible.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Using the scraper no. 3 from the Scraper Set:VAS6845 push the Cutting Tool for Bonded Windows - Wire:VAS6452/2 all around the side window under the seal.
-- Secure the upper side window using adhesive tape -1-.
-- Push the universal wedge no. 7 from the Scraper Set:VAS 6845 in the area of the rear side window under the headliner.
- The headliner must be slightly removed from the rear side window.
-- With a sawing motion, remove the Cutting Tool for Bonded Windows - Wire:VAS6452/2 toward the front and cut through the adhesive bead at the same time cut through the locating pin on the side window.
-- Remove the side window from the window opening.
