Heat Shield For Front Tunnel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the heat shield for the rear tunnel. Refer to HEAT SHIELD FOR REAR TUNNEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- TFSI vehicles: remove the front exhaust pipe/front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 2.0L DMSA , FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 2.0L DPVA , FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - 3.0L .
-- Remove the tunnel crossmember:
- Refer to OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS - 2.0L DMSA , OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS - 2.0L DPVA , .
- Refer to OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS - 2.0L DMSA , OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS - 2.0L DPVA , .
-- Lower the transmission straight until it does not contact the subframe crossbrace.
-- Remove the nuts -1-.
-- Remove the lock washers -arrows-.
-- Free up the heat shield -2- near the stud bolts.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and free up the parking lock emergency release cable -1- and remove.
-- Remove the heat shield.
