Plenum Chamber Bulkhead, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- For vehicles that have a pass-through for the coolant lines through the plenum chamber bulkhead, drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Q5 with high-voltage system:

-- De-energize the high-voltage system. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Free up the High-Voltage Cable for High-Voltage Heater (PTC) -P11- -item 1- and remove the pass-through -2-.

-- Disconnect the high-voltage cable on the high-voltage heater -3-.

-- To do so remove the connector lock -3- in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Press the release -4- in the direction of -arrow B- and remove the connector -1- approximately 5 mm up to the next release level.

-- Press the release -5- in the direction of -arrow D- and remove the connector from the connector mount -2- in the direction of -arrow C-.

• The high-voltage cable set must be replaced if the connector is damaged.

Continuation:

-- Remove the tower brace. Refer to TOWER BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and remove the bracket -1- with the Relay and Fuse Panel 3 -SR3-.

-- Pry up the clamps -1 and 5- and remove the coolant hoses.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -3-, remove the coolant hoses -2 and 4- and free them up.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead -1- upward.

-- Release the catch in the direction of -arrow-, disengage the pass-through -1- on the plenum chamber bulkhead -2- and remove.
