Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing And Installing, Fwd: Removing

-- Remove the brake shield. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the cap by lightly tapping on the Puller - Grease Cap:VW 637/2  -1-.

-- Pry the cap with the Puller - Grease Cap:VW 637/2  -1-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the threads.

  • The bolt must not be loosened or tightened with an impact wrench.

-- Remove the nut/bolt located below and remove the wheel bearing from the axle stub.

-- Remove the front seal -arrow- from the axle stub.
