Rear Upper Transverse Link, Removing And Installing: Removing

Before starting work:

-- Versions with coil springs: determine the curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT POSITION, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .

-- Versions with air suspension: determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .

-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .

-- Place the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support:T10337  on the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931  and position it at the bottom of the subframe.

WARNING:

Risk of accident!

  • Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is under the vehicle.
  • Do not leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-- Loosen the bolt -arrow-, and lower the subframe a maximum of 12 mm.

-- Disconnect the threaded connection -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove the upper transverse link -2-.

NOTE:

The installation position is shown for equipment versions with coil springs.
