Rear Lower Transverse Link, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
Versions with Coil Springs:
-- Determine the curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT POSITION, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING .
-- Remove the spring. Refer to SPRING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Versions with Air Suspension:
-- Determine the standard vehicle height. Refer to WHEEL BEARING AT STANDARD VEHICLE HEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH AIR SUSPENSION .
-- Vent the system. Refer to AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
-- Remove the right underbody trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrow- and remove the retaining pin -1-.
-- Remove the wind deflector -2- from the transverse link.
Continuation for All Versions:
-- Install the Support Device:VAS 6931/1 -A- to the brake rotor -1- using two wheel bolts -2-.
-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931 -B- at the support device and lift the wheel bearing housing slightly, doing so will make it easier to disconnect the threaded connections.
Risk of accident!
- Do not lift or lower the vehicle when the engine and gearbox jack is under the vehicle.
- Do not leave the engine and gearbox jack under the vehicle any longer than necessary.
-- Disconnect the threaded connections -1, 3 and 4-, and remove the lower transverse link -2-.
