Bumper Cover, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the front wheel spoiler. Refer to FRONT WHEEL SPOILER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Q5: loosen the front wheel housing liner in the area of the bumper cover. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- SQ5: remove the front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Before product improvement: release the catches -7 to 3- using a flat-head screwdriver in the direction of -arrow- and remove the wheel arch trim -2- from the bumper cover -1-.

TIP:

Only loosen the clips and not the adhesive on the wheel arch trim, otherwise the wheel arch trim must be replaced.

-- From product improvement: release the retainer -1- and then release the retainers -8 through 4- using a flat-head screwdriver -arrow-.

-- Remove the wheel arch trim -3- from the bumper cover -2-.

TIP:

Only loosen the clips and not the adhesive on the wheel arch trim, otherwise the wheel arch trim must be replaced.

-- Use the Rivet Pliers:T40172A with the Adapter:T40172/1 to remove the expanding rivet -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Disconnect the central connector -3-.

-- If equipped, disconnect the antenna wire -4-.

Vehicles with automatic distance control:

-- Remove the air intake grille. Refer to SIDE AIR INTAKE GRILLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the wiring harness -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

Vehicles with Headlamp Washer System:

-- Push the release buttons in the direction of -arrows- and disconnect the washer fluid hose -1- for the headlamp washer system.

-- Seal off the hose coupling with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Disengage the side section -3- from the side panel in the direction of -arrow A- and remove the bumper cover toward the front with the help of a second technician in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Lay the bumper cover on a soft surface.
