- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Secure the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS 6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Lumbar support with air cushion
-- Push the release ring and disconnect the pneumatic line -arrow- on both sides of the compressor.
-- Free up the pneumatic line.
-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- on the control module and free up the wire.
Power Lumbar Support
-- Detach electrical harness connectors -1- and -2- at the lumbar support forward/back and height adjustment motors.
-- Cut through the cable tie and free up the wiring harness on the lumbar support.

-- Drill out the rivet -3- or remove the bolt.
-- Move the lower lumbar support -1- forward, pivot it out of the backrest frame, disengage it at the top of the backrest frame -2- -arrows- and remove it.
