Lower Steering Column Trim Panel, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Move the steering wheel as far to the rear and down as possible. Use the full steering column adjustment range for this.

-- Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise 90° from the straight position.

-- Pry out the upper steering column trim panel -1- with a small flat-head screwdriver carefully from the lower steering column trim panel -2- at the position shown -arrow-.

-- Turn the steering wheel back 180° and repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

-- Disengage the upper steering column trim panel on the lower steering column trim panel and move upward to the side.

-- Remove the accessible bolt -arrow A- for the lower steering column trim panel.

-- Turn the steering wheel back 180° and remove bolt on the opposite side.

-- Bring the steering wheel back into the center (wheels are straight).

-- Remove the bolt -arrow B- and remove the lower steering column trim panel -1-.

-- Disengage the cable holder on the steering column trim panel.

-- If installed, disconnect the connector for the Steering Column Adjustment Switch -E167-.
