Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 6-Cylinder TFSI Engine: Removing

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when the ignition is switched off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Carefully pull the engine cover off the retaining pins one after the other in the direction of -arrows-. Do not pull sharply on the engine cover or pull it to one side.

-- Equipment versions without parking heater: open the retainer in the direction of -arrow- and push the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50- to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

-- Remove the generator. Refer to the appropriate Service Information. .

-- Remove the right engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -5- and nut -4-.

-- Remove the starter -1-, disconnect the connector -3- and free up the B+ wire -2-.
