Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 4-Cylinder Engine: Removing

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when the ignition is switched off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Vehicles with 2.0L TDI engine EA 288 evo:
-- Remove the particulate filter. Refer to PARTICULATE FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the right engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolt -5- and nut -4-.
-- Remove the starter -item 1-, disconnect the connector -3- and free up the B+ wire -2-.
