Battery -A-, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, 0K4 AND VH2: Notes
The 12 V system is supported by the 48 V system via the Voltage Converter, 48 V/12 V -A7-. So the only way for the 12V vehicle electrical system to be de-energized is to de-energize the 48V system beforehand.
- For subsequent work on the SCR system, wait until all of the reducing agent has returned after switching off the ignition.
Disconnecting
-- De-energize the 48V system. Refer to 48V SYSTEM, DE-ENERGIZING .
-- Switch off the ignition and place the ignition key outside of the vehicle.
-- Remove the rear luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the luggage compartment floor -1- upward from the retainers -arrows-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- at the same time unclip the cable guide above and move it to the side.
-- Place the battery bracket with the securing strap -2- toward the front.
-- Remove the battery cover -1-.
-- Loosen the nut -1- several turns and remove the battery ground cable -4- clamp -3- from the battery terminal.
